CEAT Mumbai Xpress Autorickshaw Rally 2007

February15 - 28, 2007: The IndianARC Mapping Mission- The lead organization team of the INDIANARC will travel the entire course of the event to mark exact waypoints, coordinates, arrange timing, day and nighttime activities, and finalize challenge details.

July 10, 2007: Last day for participants to register at discounted fee.

July 15 , 2007: The organization and management team of the Indian Auto Rickshaw Challenge will arrive in Chennai to make final preparations for the event.

July 20– 31, 2007: The Indian "Pimp My Rickshaw" team will be making excellent customizations to participant and sponsor auto rickshaws!

August 04, 2007: The final day for preparations, set up, and organization for the event. Auto rickshaw driving lessons will take place.

August 05, 2007:

Morning: The Chennai Auto Rickshaw Circuit Race will take place as the kick off event to the CEAT Mumbai Xpress Autorickshaw Rally 2007. Opening presentations, announcements, and ceremonies.

Approx. 11 a.m.: The starting time of the Indian Auto Rickshaw Challenge. Teams will gather in Chennai and the event will begin.

Late afternoon / Early evening: The first leg of the challenge will end 140KM (87 MILES) at Vellore.

August 06, 2007:

Morning: The second leg of the event will begin.

Late afternoon / Early evening: The challenge will end for the day 200KM (124 MILES) east of Vellore at Bangalore.

August 07, 2007:

Morning: The third leg of the event will begin.

Late afternoon / Early evening: The challenge will end for the day 203KM (126MILES) at Hassan.

August 08, 2007:

Morning: The fourth leg of the event will begin.

Late afternoon / Early evening: The challenge will end for the day 258KM (160 MILES) at Mangalore

August 09, 2007:

Autorickshaw :

An autorickshaw (auto or rickshaw or tempo in popular parlance) is a vehicle usually for hire and is one of the chief modes of transport in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka it is also popular in many other countries. It is a motorized version of the traditional rickshaw, a small two- or three-wheeled cart pulled by a person, and the velotaxi. The autorickshaw is also related to its Thai cousin, the tuk-tuk and the Bajaj in Indonesia. Some more ways this is called are auto rickshaw, auto-rickshaw, autorikshaw, auto rikshaw, auto-rikshaw. Motorized rickshaw, Motorized rikshaw, Tuktuk, Three wheeler and in many parts of India simply as AUTO.
